The European Central Bank (ECB) has announced its latest interest rate decision, revealing a reduction in the interest rates by 25 basis points to 2.25%, down from its previous level of 2.5%.The decision follows a slight cooling in inflation to 2.2% in March, and amid a deteriorating economic outlook owing to rising trade tensions. The ECB warned that increased uncertainty is likely to reduce confidence among households and firms.
