About US Natural Gas

Natural gas, also known as fossil gas, is a type of fossil fuel made up primarily of methane, as well as natural gas liquids, carbon dioxide, ethane, propane, water vapor, and other elements. Because it is one of the most environmentally friendly and clean fossil fuels, it is widely used in a variety of activities. Natural gas is commonly used to generate electricity, heat homes, and provide a supplement for gasoline-powered vehicles.
